...was established in 2008. The purpose of the organization is to focus public attention on the library resources and services and to supplement them where most needed.
Participation in the organization allows you the opportunity to volunteer and work with other dedicated people who share your enthusiasm for the library and all that it offers the community. The Friends of the Library:
Develop and sponsor library programs
Participate in children's reading programs
Raise funds through membership drives, book sales, and other projects
Act as ambassadors for literacy
All of these activities provide support and improve the services offered by the Moore County Library System.
The Friends meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 1:00pm at the main library in Carthage, located at 101 Saunders Street. Active membership is encouraged, but financial gifts are also greatly appreciated!
For more information about becoming a member of the Friends of the Library, contact the main library at (910) 947-5335.
